Motivation, ambition, they are all words of such importance, such influence. There is some awesome power in these words. For it is this same power that have driven men to action for so many years. it is this same power that has fueled the actions and achievements of man throughout history. Some were motivated by desire, some desperation, while some attributed their success to some other external motivation. Nevertheless an ambition was always present. But not all were motivated by a good cause. There were the ones who were motivated by something, to the contrary, by a factor no less than evil.
This is just the problem today, though in a very different way. Motivation, today, has taken a veryy different form. It is something for which we really feel very distraught. Today, the world has lost not only its wondorous spirit of ambiton but also itself.
A professor once put this problem of ours in a very beuatiful manner. According to him, everyone, today, is basically a kooley(porter). Yes, you read right, an ignorant, cowardly, porter. Every child, when he leaves school, doesn't leave emptty handed. The teacher gives him a big, heavy bag. She tells him not what to do with it. It simply has "KNOWLEDGE" written inbold on it. The child then without questioning her takesthe bag, and sets out on his long journey, life. Never does he ever quetion his teacher as to what is in the bag or never does he try to open it . He simply carries it all through his life. Yes, a very good porter. But a bad student nevetheless. For that is simply not what knowledge is for.
This the problem with almost everyone today. No one learns simply for the enthusiasm, the joy, thelove of learning anymore. Its just for the marks, for reputation, just because one HAS TO, not because one WANTS TO. Worse than hell such a world is, I say. And those who live onit, no better than roboys. Oh, come on! Is this what you've wished for? Is that what you want to be? A no good imagination-less robot? Definitely not. You, friend are definitely destined for a lot lot more. Don't ruin your wonderful life doing just what you have to. Do what you want to do. Sport, science, there always something or the other one excels in. I mean God obviously doesn't create men just to fill in the scenery. Everyone is created for a reason. Areason when realised could even change the course of mankind.
So what are you waiting for? Get out there and reclaim your life. I mean don't stop studying altogether and all, but don't lose yourselves either. Always have great ambitions, and be true to them. Open that bag you have on your head. Tear it up. Explore its contents. Know whats in side. Question yourselves. Have that thirst to know. Let me tell you a wonderful line I picked up on my way. It goes, "Wits beyond measure is man's greatest treasure". Its a beautiful line. And reminds us of our ultimate quest. So we'd like you keep that always in your mind. Well we hope this helps in changing your life for the better.
